Rooted in Lower Falls
"Growing together since 1975"
This year we honor our neighborhood picnic's 50-year history while celebrating our new green additions. It is the perfect excuse to bring together multiple generations of Lower Falls residents and alumni!

Thanks to our 2026 Falls Ball partners!

    • Pie-Eating Contest (4:30 PM): Hosted by Katie Falzone under the parking lot canopy. It’s whipped cream only—maximum mess, zero cleanup! Older kids who want to help run it should arrive slightly before 4:30 PM.

     Quick Reminder on Logistics

Entry and activities are free, but please bring cash, check or phone payment.
Raffle tickets are $5 and our concessions table will have seltzers, snacks, and pizza ($2 cheese, $3 pepperoni) available to keep everyone energized.
It's a picnic- you are welcome to bring your own blanket and food!

  • Click here to contribute unique skills, services, or items to our Silent Auction and Raffle. We are aiming to raise $3,000 to cover event costs and fund future outdoor improvements!

  • Michael Lorant is putting together a looping photo presentation to celebrate our 50-year history. If you have any pictures or snapshots from past Lower Falls picnics, please drop them into our repository: [Click here to upload pictures]

  • Bring a seedling, a cutting, or a potted favorite plant to share, and take a new green friend home to your own garden. Plants can either be indoor or outdoor

    • We'll have labels to write the name of the plant and care instructions

    • If the plant is poisonous to pets, please let us know and we'll make a note of that too

    • You can donate the plant directly to one of the NLF gardens (there are 8!); any outdoor plant that is leftover at the end of the evening will automatically be planted in a community garden

  • At this year’s Falls Ball, we’ll be celebrating our village’s beauty by facilitating a Plant Exchange
    (3:00 PM – 4:30 PM)

You may instead wish to donate to our ongoing beautification fund.
