The Lower Falls Improvement Association (LFIA) typically holds its Board meetings on the first Monday of every month at 8:00pm. Meetings are open to the public and residents are welcome to attend and participate. The agenda includes: Grove Street repaving/traffic calming plans, Community Center improvements, Environmental Bond Bill, and the Riverside Development. Place: Lower Falls Community Center (Blue Room) on Grove Street. The dinner will be Saturday, Nov. 3, from 6:15 to 11 p.m.
Last year nearly 100 neighbors shuffled around Lower Falls for the annual event. It's a night for seeing old and new neighbors in small manageable
groups, having great conversations, and eating some fantastic food.
Remind your friends to sign up, and please encourage new folks to attend.

Joint Concert at St. Mary's - Saturday, December 9 at 7 p.m.
- St. Mary's Adult Choir, SANS (Sharing a New Song Chorus) and
- St. Mary's Diocesan School for Girls Choir from Pretoria, South Africa
The Sharing A New Song Chorus (SANS), the Adult Choir from St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Newton Lower Falls, and the St. Mary’s Diocesan School for Girls Choir from Pretoria, South Africa, will perform a collaborative concert on Saturday, December 9, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 258 Concord Street, Newton Lower Falls.
St. Mary’s DSG Choir was founded in 1879. Directed by Ralf Schmitt and Michael Barrett, both former members of the Drakensberg Boys Choir, the 40 girls will be sharing music of South Africa with schools and choirs as part of their first US tour.
The St. Mary’s Adult Choir will be directed by Kirsten Johnson, and the SANS Chorus will be directed by Diane Winchester and accompanied by Sarah Haera Tocco.
The three groups will sing together and separately a program of African, Western classical, folk, and spiritual music.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Proceeds will support the US tour of the St. Mary's Diocesan School for Girls Choir from Pretoria, South Africa.
